✨Weekly Update

🧺 SDV Mods 🧺
Not a super busy week for modding, but I did get a few things done on Defense Division. I finished Miranda’s base and her summer outfit. I also started messing around with making my own foliage. If it turns out decent, I might show it off.

🎨 Art 🎨
Still tweaking the book cover image (again LOL). I think I finally got it to where the client’s happy. We’re also testing out different typesets and font effects. I sent over a few examples this week. I am interested to see which style the client chooses.

🎮 Games 🎮

  • Stardew Valley: I’ve been taking it slow with my animal-focused simple save file, and I’m loving it so far. This account is in Spring of Year 2 now. Luckily, this week I got to play my co-op save with my friend. It’s been a while, so we totally forgot what we were doing at first. But we got back into the swing of things pretty fast. I did a bit of achievement hunting since there are a few I haven’t collected yet.
  • Shapez: This game is so addictive. I’m on level 20 now, and my factories are a total spaghetti mess. I gave up on making them look nice and just let the chaos happen as long as it works.
  • Steins Gate: I wasn’t feeling great this week, so this VN was the perfect game to play. Just got to the part where they realize the machine can time-travel. Even though I’ve seen the anime, I’m loving the slower pace, and the voice acting is so good.

📚 Reading 📚

  • The Witness – I am a fan of Nora Roberts’ romances and wanted to give this one a try. I’m glad I did because this one’s a great thriller-romance. Almost done with it and really enjoying the read so far.
  • Heretical Fishing – Didn’t think I’d love a story about fishing, but a friend suggested it— so I gave it a shot. It’s cozy, magical, and the characters are so good that I forget I don’t even like fishing. Highly recommend this series.
  • Mother of Learning – Picked this up on Royal Road and wow… it’s amazing. If you like time loops, strong character development, and a bit of power fantasy, give it a go.

✍️ Writing Vibes ✍️

  • Koriko (Solo TTRPG) – Solo TTRPGs are helping me enjoy the process of writing once again. I’m having such a fun time exploring this fantasy world. My witch just arrived in the city, helped out during a festival, chased a thief, and is now planning for the arrival of a powerful spirit. Still hasn’t found a permanent home, though.
  • Flash Fiction – This week’s theme was “Looking into the Void,” so obviously I wrote about my black cat, Artemis. Because of course. Who doesn’t want to write about their little void baby?

💬 Life Stuff 💬
I’ve been clearing out mental clutter lately and following the mindset of “if I’m not paying for it, I’m not using it.“ It’s been freeing and has given me more time to read, write, draw, and just relax.

I’m also trying to shift away from big corporations like Amazon and YouTube. Looking into alternatives like Kobo for books, physical copies when I can, Bandcamp for music, and some indie news outlets. It’s definitely more effort (and sometimes more expensive), but I feel way better being intentional about where my money goes.

This week’s been good overall. My health’s been decent, and I had a few events (book clubs, writing meetups) keeping me busy. Didn’t get to everything I wanted to do, but I still feel like I got a lot done. Can’t wait for fall weather to kick in.

Hope you all had a good one too.  Thanks for reading! 💖
