šŸŽƒ Weekly Updates šŸŽƒ

Ā

🧺SDV Mods: 🧺

Ā I’ve been working my butt off trying to get as much of the Maggs Emo Seasonal Sebastian Portraits done as possible. Honestly? I love how they are turning out (especially the piercings, multicolored hair, and glasses). I’m so close to finishing! I don’t want to jinx it, but I might be done as early as next week. šŸ¤ž

šŸŽØArt: šŸŽØ

Still working on the typeset and layout for the custom book cover I’ve been designing. Fingers crossed, we can find the perfect font and layout that my client will like soon. I’ve also been sketching outfit designs for one of my original characters. I was inspired by the changing seasons in Stardew Valley, so I’ve decided to design outfits for different weather and occasions. Sadly, you won’t be seeing my OCs in the update image for a bit since there isn’t any space for them.

šŸŽ®Gaming: šŸŽ®

  • Stardew Valley: I played a little bit of my simple save this week. Not as much as I’d like, because I’ve been a bit busy. My co-op save with my friend ended with the Jelly Festival, which was super cute… except for the part where some of our NPCs were clipping into each other. Ā I’ll have to dig into the code of a few mods and fix that. With Fall right around the corner, my friend might finally get to marry her crush, the Wizard.
  • Dinkum: My hubby and I finished Core Keeper and started playing Dinkum. It’s kind of like Animal Crossing… but better. He loves hunting, I love foraging and decorating… we balance each other out. The only thing that would make this game perfect would be deeper NPC interactions. Ā But overall, it’s such a relaxing and fun game.
  • Coffee Talk 2: I finished it! It was good but not as amazing as the first one (in my opinion). But still, it’s a solid game for visual novel lovers. It’s perfect to play when you’re feeling under the weather since there’s minimal clicking and a great auto-play option.
  • Shapez: Whoever made this game is a sadist, and there is something to be said about me… since I am still playing it. Any shape past upgrade tier 6 makes my brain hurt. The rocket ship shape? Nope. I’m dragging my feet on that one. Also found out upgrades past tier 5 don’t stack, so I’ve been picking which ones to boost carefully.

šŸ“– Reading: šŸ“–

  • Murder in the Family: This was a book club pick and… yeah, not my favorite. The TV script format didn’t really work for me, and I wasn’t thrilled with who the killer was or how it ended. (Full review on my Goodreads if you’re curious.) Goodreads.com/AhCuteArt
  • Heretical Fishing 4: This series is starting to lose some of its sparkle for me. Too many characters, not enough focus on the ones I actually like. I still want to support the author, but books 1 and 2 were definitely my favorites. Also, the new blob creature? Weird and annoying, sorry to anyone who likes him.
  • Babel: Reading this one for another book club. I love the magic system. The way ā€œSilverā€ and language work together is so creative, but… I generally don’t like historical fictions. The themes of racism, classism, and imperialism are important, but they’re not what I usually look for in fantasy. Still, I’m halfway through, so we’ll see how it ends.
  • Magius of the Library: I picked this manga up on sale a while back, and I love it. The art is stunning, and the story is about a fantasy world where there is a government system to protect and distribute books. Unfortunately, like most shonens, the protagonist starts from the bottom of society. I just want to give the main character a big hug.

šŸ“Writing: šŸ“

  • Koriko: I made so much progress this week. I finished the ā€œSpringā€ section, and I’m moving into ā€œSummer.ā€ The random prompts I’ve been using have turned this story into something way more epic than I expected. I’m already at 14,000 words, and that’s just rough notes!
  • Tea Cup: I’m trying really hard to break the bad habit of rewriting the same scene hundreds of times. I’m forcing myself to freewrite this one straight through and save editing for later. My Goal? Finish draft one all the way through before 2026.
  • CYOA – ā€œThe Offerā€: I decided to revisit this choose-your-own-adventure story. Still debating whether to write it in 2nd or 3rd person, but I’m leaning toward 2nd for now. There are eight endings. The genre of the story changes depending on the path the reader chooses. Ā
  • Microfiction: This week’s prompt was ā€œZombie Chihuahuas.ā€ (LOL. These prompts are always wild.) Instead of going for something silly…. I wrote a tragedy instead. The story is about a mother losing her son. Sounds unrelated, but trust me, it fits. (You can read it on my blog at AhCreativeHub.com if you’re curious.)

šŸ’–Life: šŸ’–

This week’s been amazing but super exhausting — in a good way! It’s the first time in a long while I’ve been on my feet every day. I even got back into cycling and yoga again. Ā I’ve cut down on social media scrolling and replaced it with reading, writing, and gaming. Honestly? It’s been such a positive change. Although…my sleep schedule has taken a bit of a hit. (Ah, insomnia, my dedicated companion.) I’m going to soak up all this productivity while it lasts.

Ā

On a side note, Happy Halloween, everyone! If you’re celebrating, have fun and stay safe. I’d love to hear if you’re dressing up.

Ā

See you all next week, and like always, thanks for reading.
