🦃Weekly Update 🦃

🧺SDV Mods:🧺
I’m continuing work on another custom farmer portrait commission. I finished the base, plus the Spring and Summer portraits. Just a few more to go, along with some coding. This is the last one in my queue before I get back into my Nyapu retextures.

Got the paperback and hardback mock-ups done for a custom book cover I’ve been working on. They both turned out really nice, and I hope my client is happy with them.

šŸŽ®Games: šŸŽ®

  • Dinkum: Got to play a bit with my hubby this week. We’re grinding for all the parts for the helicopter (it takes SO much rare stuff, oof). I also started an orchard, which looks beautiful, and I’m slowly building up my garden and farm.
  • Personal 4: This is one I’ve been wanting to finish for ages. I played it a long time ago on console and never actually completed it. Now that I have the PC version, and since turn-based is all my hands can manage right now… It’s a great time to finally finish it. Even though it’s an older game, the visuals, story, and audio still hold up really well.
  • American Truck Sim: This was basically my comfort game all week. It’s super easy to play when I’m feeling sick. I picked up a bunch of the state DLCs since they were half off, and it’s been fun spotting landmarks I’ve actually seen in real life. It’s such a chill game, and I love playing it while listening to an audiobook.
  • Core Keeper: My friend and I spent a lot of time trying to find the summoning point and portal for Ghorm the Devourer, and we finally found it! So, we’re ready to take it on in our next play session. I’ve been decorating our base, and my friend’s been exploring and grabbing gear.
  • Operation Babel: Tried this one out since I grabbed it on sale a while ago. It had potential, but the UI and controls were honestly pretty bad, and the translation wasn’t great either. I could have powered through it, but I have too many better games waiting, so it’s going straight into the ā€œDid Not Finishā€ folder.
  • For the King: Another game I picked up on sale, but it just wasn’t for me. I’ve played a lot of rogue-likes, and this one felt lackluster. The movement system was annoying, the status effects were a pain, and there basically wasn’t a story. Maybe it would be more fun with friends, but I already own way better co-op games. So yeah… another DNF.
  • Key Keepers: Played this with my family! I’ve basically been on cannonball duty, which is actually really fun. We didn’t get to play too long since everyone’s busy with the holidays coming up, but it was a good time.

Ā šŸ“– Reading: šŸ“–

  • Mother of Learning: Finished Arc 2 and working through Arc 3. I love how Zack and Zorian work together. I just hit the part where the truth behind the time loop comes out, and wow… I love this author’s twist on the ā€œGroundhog Dayā€ type of story. The guys are training and gathering info on the villains now. I’m really enjoying this one.
  • Ember’s Claim: Finished it, but… eh. Not my favorite. The book did way too much telling and not enough showing, so I couldn’t really connect with any of the characters. It was basically smut with a tiny bit of plot. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re really into fated-mate stories without much story depth.
  • Magus of the Library: Finished book 5 and started book 6. This series is gorgeous. The art is stunning, the characters are great, and it deals with topics like racism, classism, and sexism in a thoughtful way. I love how even the characters I disliked at first grew on me. Theo is such a sweetheart and a wonderful protagonist. I’m loving this series, and I’m sad I only have one book left.
  • Campfire Cooking: I read this manga series a while back, and the novels were on sale, so I grabbed a few. I just finished book 1 and moved on to book 2. It’s such a cozy, wholesome read. I absolutely adore Sui. I wish I could have a cute slime familiar like that, too. I can’t eat most of the food described, but it’s fun to imagine. If you’re not tired of isekai genre yet, this one’s great.

šŸ›ŒLife šŸ›Œ

This week was rough. My disability flared up badly, and I couldn’t use my fingers or voice without pain. So no writing, and barely any art. I was able to use my wrist for a few short moments here and there, but even that hurt. I wasn’t sure if I’d get any commission work done, but I managed. I don’t know if it’s the cold front messing with me or just the universe throwing challenges my way.

Ā

Since I was stuck in bed for most of the week, I ended up getting a LOT of reading and gaming done. I could manage controller games but not mouse-and-keyboard ones, so no SDV for me, sadly. I rotated between different books and games depending on how much my hands and body could tolerate.

Ā

Thanksgiving was actually really nice, though. I couldn’t eat anything special because of dietary stuff, but I was able to eat with my hubby for once. We’re usually on different schedules, so that was really nice. We ended the night watching Spy X Family (which is great, btw). Even though the week was painful and frustrating, I still got things done, so I’m calling it a win.

Ā

Also… I may have gone a little wild with sales. I bought a bunch of books and games. I did miss a few early-bird deals, which made me a bit sad, but there were plenty of other good discounts to make up for it.

Ā

I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving! And if you made it to the end, thank you so much for reading. See you next time.
