Weekly Update!

🧺SDV Mods: 🧺
Without commission work, my focus has been all over the place lately (I’m doing whatever I feel like). LOL. I swear I have the attention span of a flea.

  • Kids for School: This week, I redid Beng’s sprites and portraits. He now has seasonal outfits and an irritated pose. I tried to show his grumpy attitude with the retextures and portraits.
  • Coal Farm: I’ve wanted to work on this mod for a while, and now I finally get the chance. I finished Marcus’s Spring and Beach portraits and am currently working on Mora. It’s taking a bit because there are so many portraits. I’ve been referencing dialogue to guide the retextures, and I really hope I did their emotions justice.
  • Lacey: I’ve always liked Hat Mouse Lacey, but I haven’t really loved the existing portraits, so I decided to design my own. I did a full anthro version of her. I might do a human version in the future, but honestly… I’m too lazy to retexture her sprites right now.
  • Quinn: Jakk Quinn is such an awesome mod. Even though there’s already a Nyapu portrait mod out there, I wanted to try my own take. I finished her Spring outfits, but I still need to do her Egg Festival and Flower Dance portraits. I might redo her Joja hat… I’m not happy with it yet.
  • Baldur Village: I finished Arnell. My Baldur Village retexture has been coming along slowly. There are just so many characters to do, but I love the mod and the game it’s based on. Arnell’s hair gave me some trouble, but I think he turned out okay.
  • Downhill: There’s already a retexture for this mod, but I wanted to draw it in my own style. I made Anderson older, but still buff (that’s how I picture him). I think he turned out pretty well and all I need to do is his Winter outfit.

🎮 Games: 🎮

  • Ori: My hubby and I beat Ori 1 and 2 this week. The games were beautiful, well-crafted stories…but wow, they were challenging. We loved the first game, but the ending of the second one was… not great (we didn’t like it at all). We played by switching turns between us every time one of us died. Just to be clear, there’s no co-op mode. LOL.
  • Expedition 33: I barely made time for this one this week since I’ve been focused on other projects and games. Still, I am loving the care and passion behind it. I just recruited Sciel, explored the Gestral village, and finished everything I could there before moving on.
  • American Truck Simulator: I wasn’t too ill this week, so I played a few hours. I’m sad the Christmas event is over, but it was fun while it lasted. Mostly just exploring new cities and trying to make enough money to expand my trucking empire.
  • Core Keeper: This is what my friend and I have been playing since our mega-modded SDV co-op save broke. We’ve been having a lot of fun—I’ve been hopping into her world to help fight bosses and grind the gear she wants.

📖 Reading: 📖

  • Trading in the Zone: Finished this one. It had a lot of great information on the psychology behind professional trading. I was skeptical at first, but I’m really glad I gave it a chance. A lot of the mindset shifts apply to real life, not just trading.
  • Antifragile: I’ve only just started this, but I really like the philosophy of moving away from “fragile” systems and mindsets.
  • Campfire Cooking in Another World: I don’t remember if I mentioned this last week, but I finished all 16 volumes. It’s a cozy isekai fantasy and was very addictive for me, though I have a hard time recommending it to others. Now I just need to write all the Goodreads reviews…
  • Legends & Lattes: Such a cozy, low-stakes fantasy. If you don’t like that kind of story, this probably isn’t for you— but I absolutely loved it. Viv and Tandri were adorable, Amity the dire-cat was my fav character, and I’ll definitely be checking out the author’s other works.

🌟 Life: 🌟

2025 Resolutions:
I finished several of my yearly goals, though I was definitely too ambitious overall. This is what I did accomplish:

  • Read 12 purchased Kindle ebooks
  • Listened to 12 purchased Audible books
  • Finished 24 games
  • Finished the physical copy of Berlin (comic)
  • Completed my book cover commissions
  • Finished Nyapu-style retextures for SDV vanilla, RSV, and several custom NPCs

What I didn’t get to: writing, TTRPGs, programming, 3D art, and traditional art.

2026 Goals:
This year I’m keeping things more realistic. My main focuses are trading, writing, and relaxing. On the back burner (when I feel up to it) are things like 3D art and programming. I didn’t include SDV modding, 2D art, reading, or gaming as goals because I’ll do those regardless.

It’s now 2026, and I hope everyone has a wonderful year ahead.
Happy New Year, everyone! I’ll see you all next week.
