✨Weekly Update!

🧺SDV Mods: 🧺

This was a really good modding week for me. I got a lot of retextures done and managed to get a head start on a few side projects. Unfortunately, I didn’t quite have the time or energy to work on the foliage retextures this week. But my progress on most of my goals was pretty solid overall.

  • Daulton & Maple: Daulton was pretty easy to retexture since he already looked a lot like Tristan. Aside from tweaking a few expressions, he came together quickly. Maple, on the other hand… was a challenge. Drawing a cute bunny is apparently harder than it looks. My first attempt made her look like a hamster with long ears. Lesson learned for any aspiring artists— use references. Once I actually looked at a couple of pictures of real bunnies, I realized just how off her face and proportions were. The second redo turned out much better. I’m not completely in love with it, but I had to call it done, or I’d be stuck redoing her forever.
  • Hat Mouse Lacey: There are quite a few Lacey portraits out there, but none of them really matched how I imagined her. So, I decided to try my own take. Honestly? She turned out way better than I expected. She’s adorable, and I’m really happy with how her anthro design came out. I liked her so much that I’m now dangerously tempted to make anthro versions of all the NPCs. That being said, the hardest part of this mod was definitely the CP coding. Patching her into the game gave me so much trouble! I’m crossing my fingers that there aren’t any bugs.
  • Downhill Project: I’ve wanted to retexture this mod ever since it released. I love the concept, and I think it’s really well done. I made Anderson older and reimagined Arthur as a big, hulking guy since that’s how I always pictured them. Overall, I think they turned out pretty good.
  • Kids for School: This co-op project is still moving along slowly as I redo the kids’ portraits and sprites. This week I finished Donny. Since his family owns and works at a pizzeria… I wanted that to show in his design. So, I gave him a hat with a slice of pizza. His special sprite pose has him passionately expressing his dislike for Joja. He turned out really cute, and I’m super happy with him. There are still several kids left to go.
  • Colored Assets Project: I’ve started working on a variety of mods that recolor flooring, torches, lamps, fences, and sprinklers with themed color options. So far, I’ve finished the red flooring and crystal torches, and I’m currently experimenting with animations. The other red-themed items are in progress. These projects were started because, while playing at my simple red-themed SDV save, I kept thinking, “I want a red version of this.” Not able to find what I was looking for on Nexus, I decided to create my own. I’m still deciding whether to release these as individual mods or one big mega pack. The planned colors are: Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple, Orange, White, and Black. If there’s a color you’d really love to see, feel free to let me know, and I’ll add it to the list.

🎮Games: 🎮

  • Stardew Valley: I actually had time to play some SDV this week! A friend and I started a vanilla co-op save. Our main goal right now is to build a coop. I also played quite a bit on my “simple red-themed” save, which was nice.  I think my farm looks so good with the new red flooring and torch mods I’ve been testing. I’m trying to romance Lance so he can be my third husband. My current husbandos, Tea (Custom NPC), and redheaded Sebastian are just way too cute. I love them. I really want to draw some fanart once we have kids. I’ve been keeping this save light on expansions since I’m playing on my laptop, but I couldn’t resist adding Defense Division and Lunna. Hopefully, I’ll stop adding more to my simple save… otherwise, my load times are going to take forever.
  • American Truck Simulator: I had to read a book club book this week. So, I killed two birds with one stone. When I wasn’t feeling well, I relaxed and played ATS while listening to the TTS function on my Kindle. I’ve been exploring several cities in the upper western portion of the map. The level of detail in each location is stunning. It’s such a nice and cozy game.

📖Reading:📖

  • Mark of the Fool: I love this series. I read a couple of the eBooks in the series a long time ago. A couple of months ago, I picked up most of the books on audio before my Audible membership expired. I’ve started it again, and I’m slowly making my way through book one.
  • Blackwater: This is the omnibus my Big Book Club chose for this month, and it’s considered a horror cult classic. I won’t lie…it’s really good. The story is very character-driven, and the author is a master at his craft. I’ve just finished part two, and I’m excited to keep reading and discussing it with the group.

💖Life: 💖

Overall, this was a great week. My health was pretty good (aside from a few rough evenings), and I managed to get a lot done. I’ve been writing again, though nothing I want to share just yet. I’ve also been studying more about writing whenever I have the time. On the side, I’ve also been slowly absorbing day trading strategies. I’m trying really hard to practice relaxation techniques, especially since my insomnia has been hitting hard lately. Sleep hasn’t been great, but I’ve been taking naps when I can to make up for it. I’m also trying to better organize my schedule so I can focus on more than just Stardew modding. Though it’s hard to give up on my modding addiction. It’s just so fun to mod the game and then see everything come together while I play. All in all, it’s been a really good week.

I hope you’re all doing well. Take care, and I’ll see you next time.
