⭐Weekly Update! ⭐

🧺 SDV Mods 🧺

  • Coal Farm: Progress is coming along great! I’ve really been wanting to finish this mod, so I’ll probably focus on this next week. I’m close to finishing Ashida. Her Spirit’s Eve outfit is the only thing left to draw. I’m also working on Isaac I and II’s bases. Since I didn’t get very far into playing the mod myself, I’m not entirely sure who Spencer is yet. I’ll need to dig through the code to figure out their age so I can create their base.
  • Lumen: He’s finally finished!  Oh boy… he was a challenge. Most gacha games have super detailed character designs, and Lumen was no exception. I looked up every image I could to try to find as many details as possible. Adding these details to his tiny pixel portraits? It was so hard. Overall, though, I think he turned out pretty cute, and I can’t wait to add him into my game.
  • Colored Flooring: I didn’t get too much time to work on any of my recoloring projects this week. Which is a good thing since I usually do them on my phone while sick in bed. I’m almost done with the pastel versions of my floor/path mod. Just pastel orange left to go… and the coding, but I don’t want to talk about that tedious part. LOL. So… they should be done soon. Hopefully.

🎮 Games 🎮

  • Planet Crafter: I’ve been spending a lot of quality time playing this game with my sister, and it’s been awesome. We’ve finished terraforming the heat and are now working on pressure and oxygen. I redid our home base, so it actually looks beautiful, instead of the… “unique” structure I built the first time.  She convinced me to explore a few times with her, and she brought me to some new areas I hadn’t seen in my own game. The red water forest was especially cool. Right now, we’re trying to increase insect production.
  • Slime Rancher 2: The Labyrinth is SO confusing, but I’m slowly making my way through it. I got super lucky and snagged a devilish slime during a tornado near my base. I’ve found some Sloombers, but I still can’t locate any Hyper ones. I’ve unlocked a few doors, but I need more shadow plorts, and those are such a pain to get. On the bright side, I’ve built a bunch of drones (which make crafting so much easier) and finally set up several two-way teleports. No longer will I need to track across the map to get where I need to go. I feel like I’m getting close to the endgame now.
  • Fallout 4: I played a little bit this week. I’m determined to finally finish the vanilla version this year. I’ve always meant to sit down and properly play it, but I usually get distracted by something else. I only just got past the tutorial. There were a few glitches that made the game run strangely, but I’m trying to look past them and just enjoy the game for what it is.

📖 Reading 📖

  • Blackwater: I’m reading this for my Big Book Club and just finished books 3 and 4. Goodness, this series is SO good. The characters and story go in directions I’d never expected, and the underlying horror elements are so satisfying and unsettling. If you like drama, horror, and powerful women, I highly recommend giving it a try.
  • Run Riot: This is a reverse harem series I enjoyed a while back, so I decided to reread and catch up on the books I missed. I love that this is a slow-burn romance. The author does such a great job developing both the characters and the world in a way that makes me want to emotionally invest in them. I can’t wait to reread this again.
  • Emma: I’m trying to finish this before my classic book club next week. I thought I had read it before… but apparently not. Oops. I confused it with another story. Now I’m listening to it while working on other projects to catch up.

✍️ Writing ✍️

  • Free Writing: Oh my God. I’m actually writing again.  I’ve been trying to figure out what kind of writing I can manage when I’m not feeling well, and I decided to try freewriting. These “mind vomit” pages will probably never see the light of day, but they’ve been a joy to create. I’ve just been writing whatever comes to mind. So far, it’s been my thoughts and some random “panted” story. It’s honestly been so much fun and has helped me enjoy writing again.
  • CYOA Project: Okay, I have a plan. I’ve been trying to write this choose-your-own-adventure with 8 distinct endings, but I keep running into consistency issues. So instead of trying to patch things as I go, I’m going to rough draft all 8 paths first. Then I’ll compare them, figure out what elements they share, what needs strengthening, and what I can cut. This week I only had time to work on the romance route, but I’m looking forward to writing the others soon. Hopefully…

💬 Life💬

This week was a mixed bag. The health issues from last week stuck around until Wednesday. But I felt better Thursday and jumped right back into my art and writing projects. I’m trying to dedicate more time to writing and trading, which unfortunately means I’ll need to cut back on my artwork projects. That doesn’t mean I’m stopping… just slowing down a bit.

I’m also considering entering the SDV modding contest that opens on February 26th and runs for a month. If I do, I think I’ll finally finish that foliage retexturing project I’ve been slowly working on for a while.

That’s it for me this week! I’ll see you all next time.
