⭐ Weekly Update ⭐

🧺SDV Mods:🧺

  • Coal Farm: Ashida, Isaac, and Isaac II are officially done! Marcus’s outfits are almost complete. I just need to finish his spirit outfit. That leaves Mora and Spencer to go. I really wanted to finish this mod, BUT with the SDV contest running this month, a couple of my retexture projects are going to have to sit on the back burner for now.
  • Colored Paths: I updated this one this morning! Pastel colors have officially been added. Players can now choose from Pink, Lilac, Buttermilk, Mint, Marigold, and Baby Blue for their floors and paths. I’m really happy with how soft and pretty they turned out.
  • Colored Fences: Okay… this project is turning out way bigger than I originally planned. The fences themselves are mostly finished, but now I need to format the art into a CP and AT mod. When it’s complete, there will be 16 color options, 4 brand new gates, an option to change the default gate, and festival decorations that auto-appear on holidays. There’s a lot of coding and formatting ahead of me, but I’m really looking forward to completing this (so I can add it to my own game).

🎮 Games:🎮

  • Slime Rancher 2 (Finished): I finally finished it! It was such a cute and cozy game. I liked playing it while listening to an audiobook. Getting to the final “boss” area was a pain, though. I had to look up how to find the harmonizers. I enjoy exploring, but some of those maps were seriously convoluted. I liked it overall, but not enough to keep playing post-endgame. The décor mechanics were decent, but I really wish there were easier and more automated ways to feed slimes and sell plorts.
  • Hades II: I 100% the first Hades, so I’ve been really wanting to play this one. The beginning of the story really surprised me. I won’t spoil anything, but let’s just say some of my favorite characters are missing… and I am not happy about it!
  • Resident Evil Village: This is the next game my hubby and I are playing together. It took some tweaking to optimize the graphics on my PC, but once we got it running smoothly, the visuals were amazing. The writing and story are… okay. We’re still trying to piece together what’s going on and why someone would take his daughter. We haven’t had much time to sit down and play it for very long, yet, but we’re having fun.
  • The Planet Crafter: My sister and I finally got portals up and frogs are growing. There isn’t a ton of decorating I can do right now, so I’ve taken a break from housekeeping and been enjoying exploring shipwrecks with her. I’m very glad she’s leading the way because I would absolutely get lost. Also, drones are the best.
  • American Truck Simulator: On a few mornings when I wasn’t feeling great, I played this for a bit. There’s a Valentine’s event going on, but I don’t think I’ll have time to complete the 15-ish jobs needed for the special décor items. That’s okay, I still enjoy hauling those holiday-themed trailers around.
  • Core Keeper: We’re back! It’s been a few weeks since I got to join our weekly session, but I helped my friend beat the final boss. Now we’re trying to clear enough space in the Passage to take down Urschleim. The mobs are annoying and are interfering with our terraforming plans. I really wish there were a way to keep them from exploding everywhere.

📖 Reading:📖

  • State of Grace (Book 2): I’m loving this RH series. The author really takes time to develop each love interest and the world-building, and it shows. It looks like each of the four love interests is getting their own dedicated book, and I’m looking forward to it. I loved Riot, but I think Bullet is just as awesome. Grace is a lucky woman. I’m really happy the author avoids some of the more common RH tropes. I am really looking forward to reading through this series.
  • Emma: I finally read this right before book club. Not much to say other than I can absolutely see why it’s considered a romantic classic. I am glad I read it once, but it’s not a re-read classic, if you know what I mean.
  • Mark of the Fool (Book 4): One of my comfort series. It’s so good. This book focuses on the expedition to Alex’s homeland, and I love how clever and meticulous he is. I was real nervous during his meeting with the Heroes. The Chosen suspects something,  but with how careful Alex is, maybe they’ll never figure out he was the Fool all along. Also, Claygon is the best.

💬 Life: 💬

Instead of going on and on about my health issues, I’m going to switch things up. I am going to try to focus on my good days from now on. So, half of this week was great, and I got a solid amount of work done. With the SDV modding contest going on, I’m pushing myself to finish a few side projects in hopes of winning something, but I’m also trying not to overdo it.

There are so many talented modders out there. I don’t know if I’ll win anything, but I’m going to give it my best shot. And if something doesn’t make the deadline? I’ll still finish it anyway.

March is right around the corner (how??). I didn’t get any writing done this week, and some projects will need to wait until after the contest period, but that’s okay.

That’s it for me this week. Until next time, everyone.
