Small Fiction: Not what I asked for!

Micro/ Flash Fiction: Depression Hamsters

Helena, the Princess of the Damned, was determined to summon a kind and gentle familiar to soften her image. No longer would she be known as the most terrifying royal in Hell. Then maybe, Joshua, Leader of the Holy Knights, would stop avoiding her.

Helena concentrated her magic on calling something tiny and cute.

Something powerful answered.

The small rodents had black fur, glowing red eyes, and ominous auras.

Her servants and followers fell to their knees in front of the beasts.

“It’s the Legendary Vermin of Despair,” they proclaimed.

“Great… I summoned a bunch of… depression hamsters?” Helena mumbled.
