šŸŽƒ Weekly Update šŸŽƒ

Ā

🧺 SDV Mods: 🧺
Worked hard on my commissions this week. I finished a custom farmer portrait, and she turned out so cute. Now I’m working on Maggs’ Seasonal Sebastian mod. I am redoing all Seb’s portraits in my style. There are a lot of variations (hairstyles, outfits, etc.), but I’ve made it through his hair and a few clothing options so far. Still so much left to go. šŸ˜…

šŸŽØ Art: šŸŽØ
Still messing with the custom book cover commission. The client wanted to try out their name in a bigger font, so I ended up rearranging the layout in a few mockups. On the side, I’ve been doodling outfit ideas for some of my OCs. Didn’t have room to share them this time, but if I get space in a future post… I’ll squeeze them in.

šŸŽ® Games: šŸŽ®

  • Stardew Valley (Modded): Been casually playing my ā€œsimpleā€ save. I’m dating Alex (he’s so sweet in the Maggs mod! Those morning walks are adorable.) I am also dating Elliot thanks to the Free Love mod. Letting things happen naturally for now, no rush on marriage. I finally met Lance after reaching the top of the Island dungeon! Also finished the SVE witch’s maze, which killed me several times, LOL. Still haven’t unlocked the option to date Rasmodius, but I’m working on it.
  • Shapez: Wiring made things so much easier. The shapes are so complex now. I’ve just learnt to accept the mess and spaghetti. It’s honestly kind of soothing now that I know what I’m doing.
  • Coffee Talk 2: Still enjoying the story. Just uncovered the mystery behind the vandalism (no spoilers), and a certain couple figured out what truly matters. I feel like the story’s getting close to the end.
  • Core Keeper: Forgot to mention this one in past updates. I usually play with my husband once a week, but we managed two sessions this time. We’ve basically beaten the game by killing every boss. His summoner build + my mining build = OP team. Now we’re just exploring and hunting down some of the achievements and rare weapons.
  • American Truck Sim: Haha, please don’t judge me. Ā I like to play this game when I want to zone out and listen to an audiobook. It’s relaxing and like a podcast with scenery.

šŸ“– Reading : šŸ“–

  • Heretical Fishing 3: Still enjoying the series, but this one was a bit harder to follow. Fisher has so many friends and animal companions now that it’s kind of hard to keep track of everyone. Still a fun read though. I’m planning to reread this one before moving on to book 4. Can’t wait for book 5 next year.
  • The Power Broker: Oof. This book is heavy. Learning about Robert Moses and how he used power is wild. Didn’t realize how racist and manipulative he was. He kept people out of public parks, worked against Roosevelt (back when he was governor), and just generally was awful. The stories from the Depression era are especially heartbreaking. Apparently, police would randomly arrest innocent women and label them as ā€œnight workersā€ just to make money off bail or bribes. Horrible. I’m about halfway through and just taking it in slowly.

Ā

šŸ“ Writing:šŸ“

  • Koriko (Solo TTRPG Journal): My little witch is now in the ā€œSpringā€ season, and one powerful spirit keeps popping up in the story. So I’ve decided to make them a key character. I’ve also added some nice little plot threads that I might turn into a full story later.
  • Flash Fiction: Last week’s prompt was ā€œWord Problems.ā€ It took me a while to come up with an idea for it. I ended up writing a mini fact about myself. This week’s was ā€œEating Cookies in the Shower.ā€ LOL, yes, really. I went with a fun, silly little idea. I’ve also been playing around with a new writing technique, and it’s really been working for me. Feels like I’ve leveled up a bit.

Ā

šŸ’– Life:šŸ’–
Honestly? This week was awesome. I was up and active way more than usual, made real progress on a bunch of projects, and even knocked out a few (easy) New Year’s resolutions. On the other hand… I’ve been slipping a little back into consuming ā€œmind slop.ā€ Ā Trying to stay away from it, but it’s so hard. Wish me luck, and I hope I have the discipline this week to stay out of the brain rot zone.

Ā

If you read until the end, thank you. I’ll see you all next time.
