🧺SDV Mods: 🧺

I’ve spent most of this week completing a custom NPC portrait commission. Some of the poses were challenging, but I’m really happy with how he turned out. I’m moving on to my next commission soon, and after that, I should be able to get back to some Nyapu portrait retextures.

šŸŽ®Games: šŸŽ®

  • Dinkum: My hubby and I have been having so much fun with this game. We finished building a road across the island, but now we’re completely out of ore. So back to the mines we go. We’ve also been trying to get more villagers to move in, but even with one heart, they just won’t. I’m going to have to look up why they won’t take up residence on our island.
  • Key Keeper: My sister and I finally started gaming together again. My sister, her hubby, and I tried out this little-known indie title. It’s a mix of tower defense and ā€œtake-and-serveā€ gameplay like Overcooked. It’s really fun and a great co-op game.
  • Divinity 2: I played this ages ago but never got far. My sister and I decided to give it another shot. It’s such a great TTRPG. There are tons of choices and great character options to choose from. We both picked Origin characters (the two women), and we just survived the shipwreck.
  • Core Keeper: Our SDV co-op is paused for now because East Scarp isn’t working in our mega-modded multiplayer save. Ā So we decided to try Core Keeper while waiting for the SDV mod bugs to get fixed. I love this game. I’ve been busy gardening and decorating our base while my friend explores and hunts treasure. I think we make a great team. We also took down the Slime boss in a few hits, thanks to being a bit overpowered for this fight.
  • American Truck Sim: This is one of my comfort games. It’s perfect for days when my body isn’t cooperating. I have a couple of DLCs already, and I’d love more… but oof, they get pricey.

šŸ“–ReadingšŸ“–

  • Magus of the Library: I adore this manga. I devoured volume 4 and moved straight into volume 5. The backgrounds, the artwork, and the character diversity are all so beautiful. I just wish it had fewer ecchi scenes. I only bought the first five volumes, so I’ll have to wait to see if there is a sale for the rest of the series before I can continue.
  • Trapped by His Love, the Duke’s Unexpected Bride: You got to love those long Japanese titles. This is a classic shoujo romance with a slight twist on familiar tropes. I appreciate that the MC goes for the nice guy instead of the jerk. And I do have to admit I have a soft spot for green-flag yanderes. This story doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but fans of the genre will enjoy it.
  • Ember’s Claim: I grabbed a few reverse harem genre—first volumes on sale, and this was one of them. It’s okay so far. It leans heavily on telling rather than showing to catch readers up on the prior generation’s story, and the FL is your typical overpowered fated-mate heroine. Not bad, but not too interesting to me… yet. Also, I’m a firm believer that shifters should only have one animal form, not two.
  • 1000 Character Reactions: Found this while browsing eBook deals. It’s a solid reference book for anyone who wants some good ideas for character reactions, or if you want to check if you’re repeating a few too often.

šŸ“Writing šŸ“

  • Koriko: I just finished a section that created a huge story arc. Although this solo TTRPG is a bit long, it’s been so much fun and has inspired me to make this into a fantasy coming-of-age novel.
  • CYOA ā€œ The Offerā€: The choose your own adventure is coming along nicely, but slowly. I made progress on outlining the next part. Unfortunately, I haven’t gotten to drafting the story just yet. Hopefully, I’ll get it done soon.

šŸ’–Life:šŸ’–

Overall, it was a good week. I’ve recovered from my cold and been pretty busy. My hubby and I have made a rule to wind down from work and relax together every night. Which is kind of important when you work seven days a week. Working out has been helping my pain. And there were only a few days when I was stuck in bed.

Ā

I didn’t get any artwork done outside of my commission jobs. Ā I’d love to start voice acting again, but my project list is already a mile high.

Ā

I’m so looking forward to the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Ā I’m totally someone who enjoys hunting for deals during this season— especially on books and games.

Ā

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates! And if you made it this far, thanks for reading.

Ā

Until next time.
