The United Earth Federation had tried just about everything to get the Korocks to join their cause. Trade, gifts, bribes— nothing worked!
Now, Brian, the UEF ambassador, was covered in sweat as he looked at the new negotiator his boss had sent him. Lillian was carrying a weapon strapped to her hip.
“Why are you carrying a tiny sword to a peace negotiation?” Brian hissed.
“Machetes are perfect weapons to bring aboard starships.” Lillian shrugged.
“Is this truly necessary?”
“Armed people are polite people,” Lillian smirked.
Later that day, to Brian’s surprise, the negotiations had gone perfectly.
