⛄Weekly Update

🧺SDV Mods: 🧺
I finally wrapped up my last commission! The custom farmer portrait came out super cute. Now I’m back to working on my Nyapu retextures. I’m almost finished Aymeric, but I have two more portraits and some code left. I’m thinking of switching over to Polysweet next since that one has only a few portraits. After that, my next big project will be either Defense Division or Baldur’s Village… I’m still deciding. I’m holding off on East Scarp for now since I’ve heard Nyapu is already on it.

🎮Games:🎮

  • Crime Scene Cleaner: I am absolutely obsessed with this game. The graphics are great, the story is dark in a fun way, and the gameplay is really addictive. It’s also perfect for audiobook listening. Using a controller was a huge help since my disabilities were hassling me all week. I finished the main story with Big Jim and moved on to the next area. Only downside… sometimes the game bugs out and I have to restart a level. Annoying, but still a ton of fun.
  • Core Keeper: Was able to play a little bit with my friend this week. We took down Ghrom the Devourer (I almost died, LOL), but we managed to beat it without either of us going down. We’ve mostly been decorating and terraforming. We’re just playing a relacing co-op. We made it to Malugaz’s arena, and the path the game generated is just… awful. It created the longest walk from the teleporter. I really hope we don’t die during the fight because getting back in will take a while. Still, we’re having a great time, and I’m excited for the January update.
  • American Truck Sim: This is my go-to comfort game when I’m feeling sick. I grabbed a bunch of DLC on sale for both ATS and Euro Truck. This week, I drove all over Texas trying to hit every city. The detail in this game is incredible. I recognized actual landmarks from road trips I’ve been on IRL. Also got a lot of audiobook “reading” done while driving.
  • Dinkum: My hubby and I didn’t play much. We were SO close to buying the helicopter… and then the game glitched, and we lost 2,000,000 dinks. 😭
He took it out of the bank, and since we didn’t save before quitting, it all vanished. We were super disappointed, but we’ll grind it back. Trapping time again.
  • Persona 4: Didn’t make much progress this week. I’m still in the first dungeon and made it to floor six before I had to retreat because everyone’s HP and MP were low. I forgot how fun this game is, though. I like the card combining system. Really looking forward to progressing deeper into the story and the weird murders.

📖Reading: 📖

  • Campfire Cooking in Another World: I bought the whole series during a Black Friday sale, and I’m already on book eight. Not going to lie, I have no idea why I like this series so much because I am definitely not the target demographic, LOL. But it’s cozy and low-stress, and I just enjoy it. My only complaint is the MC starts doing some questionable stuff later (like buying slaves! WHY do so many isekai MCs do this?). There’s a lot of cooking too, which makes me hungry for the fantasy food described in the book. I wish I could have a magical supermarket too.
  • Magus of the Library: I’m getting close to the end of the series. I borrowed volumes six and seven from the library. I didn’t enjoy the focus character in book six. The noble rich girl turnaround story just didn’t land for me. But book seven was amazing. It gets into stuff like whether fiction should be regulated, plus all sorts of politics and philosophy. I even had to look up a few words (I love challenging words). Still obsessed with this series and can’t wait to read more.
  • Hercule Poirot’s Christmas: This was my book club pick for the month. Classic Agatha Christie murder mystery goodness. I actually guessed the killer this time! (I won’t say who because I don’t want to spoil it.) This story was perfect for the holiday season.

💙Life: 💙
This week was rough. My disabilities flared up and hit me hard, so I’ve been behind on everything (chores, projects, you name it). I’m doing what I can during the small moments where I feel okay, but things are going to be slow until my body calms down.
Mostly, I’ve just been gaming (with a controller) and reading. My fingers and wrist were acting up, too, so no writing and barely any drawing happened. Even my voice didn’t want to cooperate for TTS. At least I’m making progress on my backlog, though.

I hope winter is treating you all well. See you next week!
