💖Weekly Update! 💖

🧺SDV Mods: 🧺

I had a really good start to the week… until I caught a cold. A lot of projects (Kids for School, Mineral Town, Foliage, etc.) had to be put on pause while I recovered. On the bright side, I might have a commission coming up, which is exciting.

  • Lumen: I am so close to being done with the art for his mod. His game details had me going back over him again and again, trying to get everything right, and I still probably missed something. Finding high-quality reference images I could zoom in on was surprisingly hard, especially for his special outfits. I haven’t been able to find a clear reference for one of his Spirit Eve outfits… so I may have to wing that one. I cannot wait until he’s finished. I fully plan to marry him in my next blue-themed SDV save.
  • Coal Farm: Oh boy… making a baby fit properly in an overlay with existing characters was HARD. I hope Isaac II turned out okay. I did finish Mora and Marcus’s summer outfits, though. Progress is slow but steady, and I’m really happy with how they’re looking so far.
  • AGE Seasonal: I finished Gabriel and Zinna’s Mongolian bases and completed several of Gabriel’s seasonal outfits. I had planned to try to find time to do more on Zinna’s outfits next. I’ll see how much I can get done this coming week.
  • Colored-Theme Project: Since I was stuck in bed, I spent most of my time working on this one. By request, I’m adding pastel colors to my colored paths. So far, I’ve finished pink, lilac, and baby blue, and I’m currently working on mint. The colored fences are coming along nicely. I decided to edit the iron fences and all of the gates. The vanilla gates will still be an option, but I wanted to include my own versions as well. Unfortunately, the vertical and horizontal gates aren’t identical. The way the game lays them out is slightly off, so they needed completely different designs. Even so, I think the retextures turned out pretty well.

🎮Game: 🎮

  • Planet Crafter: My sister and I make a great team. I build-up the base, and she explores. I’ve created a monstrous tower of a main base that she is probably dying to tear down and fix. Now I’m wondering if I can turn it into an upside-down pyramid. She’s been amazing to game with and has recently gotten our automation process started. Since we’re playing on hard mode, it feels like we have to build absolutely everything from scratch.
  • Slime Rancher 2: This has been my chill morning game while I listen to audiobooks. I’ve made good progress and am currently navigating the Grey Labyrinth. I get lost constantly, but it’s so much fun to explore. Resource gathering has been slow, but things got easier once I unlocked a drone.
  • SDV: I played my simple red-themed save this week and FINALLY made it to level 100 in Skull Cavern. Now I’m debating whether to continue down the SVE or RSV side quest path. I also still have so many golden walnuts to find on Ginger Island.

📖Read: 📖

  • Mark of the Fool: This is my comfort series. I love listening to it while doing chores, gaming, or working on art. I’m most of the way through book three. The MC and his friends are getting ready for the big school competition. I’ve already read this arc before, but am having fun listening to this the second time around.
  • Kraken Rider Z: A good friend recommended this one. I have mixed feelings. I adore the main character and his Kraken companion, but I struggle with the corrupt officials, guards, and sailors surrounding them. My heart broke when his father sold him out, and we learned he’s a merperson. Poor boy… becoming a slave after being discovered was rough to read. I’ll continue when I’m emotionally prepared to handle people treating the MC terribly.
  • Lout of the Count’s Family: I tried volume two even though I didn’t love the official translation of volume one. Sadly, it felt just as dull to me. The tension and excitement fell flat. Part of that may be me maturing as a reader, but I also think the translation felt dry. I won’t be continuing the series, which is disappointing because I have such fond memories of it when I read it as a fan translation.

💕Life: 💕

The first half of the week was amazing! I felt great and got so much done. The second half? Not so much. My hubby brought home a mild cold, and it knocked me out for three days straight. I did a little reading and pixel recoloring in bed, but mostly I just slept. The rest was nice… but I definitely missed working on my projects.

I’m also trying to get back into writing. It feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day, so I’ve been reviewing my schedule. After logging my time this week, I realized I’ll probably need to cut back on some art projects to make room for writing. I’ve started practicing free writing again for fun, and I’m hoping to get back to my main projects once I finalize my new schedule next week. Wish me luck!

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! I hope you get to spend it with someone special. Take care, and until next time. 💗💘💞
