🌸 Weekly Update 🌸

🧺 SDV Mods: 🧺

  • Seasonal ES: I’ve finally started working on this project seriously and consistently. Aideen, Eloise, Jacob, Jasper, and Juliet are all done. Rosa is almost finished (just winter and spirit left), and I’ve completed a few portraits for Vivienne. The good news is that everyone’s base sprites are finished. Which should make outfit variations much easier from this point onwards. If everything goes smoothly (and the coding isn’t a nightmare), I might have this ready in about two weeks… but we’ll see.
  • Clothing: This is my first time making a clothing mod…and wow, it was surprisingly difficult. What started as a simple idea for fantasy wings turned into hats… then outfits… and now multiple themed sets. (Hahah, I have a modding idea addiction.) I couldn’t find the kind of vibrant red fairy wings I wanted, so I made my own, inspired by monarch butterflies. That idea snowballed into a fairycore + royalty theme, complete with crowns and accessories. What is done right now is the fairy wings and hats, the demon and angel wing bases, and lastly, coding for the hats and accessories. What I still need to do is figure out how to create hair, outfits, and shoes. Coding for Fashion Sense was way more complex than I expected, especially positioning assets, but I got through it. I’ll likely add VPR and Earthy recolored versions later on.
  • Craftables: I absolutely LOVE Molamole’s mods, but I wanted more color variety, so I decided to retexture all vanilla + SVE craftables. Right now, I’m focusing on what I need for my red-themed save first. The bases for the furnace, egg incubators (2 types), hay dispenser, heater, auto petter, and preserve jar are done. There are so many more to draw up and color.
  • Animals: Chicken bases are DONE and tested! I love how they look, even if the animations are a bit awkward (because of the limitations of the original tile sheets). They look adorable in my red-themed save, and I’m excited to move on to ducks, rabbits, and dinos next. This will take a while since I’m planning both CP and AT versions. After coop animals, I’ll move on to barn animals and maybe even other animal mods.

🎮 Games: 🎮

  • Hades 2: This week was rough. I kept getting wiped in the first area. That shadow mini-boss has wrecked me since I had problems seeing it! I’m still experimenting with weapons and figuring out what might fit with my playstyle. The second (water) area has been especially bad. I keep triggering traps. Definitely in the “learning the patterns and terrain” phase right now.
  • No Man’s Sky: I followed a guide for the best weapons and ships in the early game…and ended up on a Dissonant planet. Everything wants me dead. The extreme heat (worse when storming), hostile wildlife, sentinel oversight on everything I do, and constant pirate attacks almost killed me several times. I did manage to get a Sentinel ship and weapon, but surprise— the ship doesn’t use normal fuel! So now I’ve got a base on a planet I would like to lovingly name HELL, so I can farm radiant crystals there regularly to feed my hungry spacecraft.
  • Stardew Valley: Still obsessed with this game. I’ve been focusing on RSV quests, which means I haven’t had much time to woo with Lance or Lunna lately. I know it’s terrible that I am only befriending Lunna to unlock a special location. But I want Gabriel for my 4th hubby. Also, I’m super excited for my in-game child to be born. I’ll probably retexture them to match Tea, and I want each kid to represent one of my spouses (thank you, multiple kids mod).
  • Silent Hill 2 (Remake): Absolutely terrifying, 10/10. Playing with my husband helps me not quit this game immediately out of fear. We’re currently in the apartments and just explored the first nightmare section. The remake team did an amazing job.
  • Planet Crafter: My sister and I are almost done. We’ve unlocked nearly everything (just working on biomass goals now). In the meantime, while we wait, I’ve been designing bases, creating creatures, and collecting rare dĂ©cor.  We’ve also been diving into portals to pass the time. It’s been such a great co-op experience, and we’re planning to try the Toxic DLC next.

đź“– Reading: đź“–

  • Blackwater: A solid drama-horror omnibus, but not always to my taste. Now that I have reached the end, I have pretty mixed feelings overall. I felt like the drama was good, but the horror elements were a little forced at times and lacking in other scenes. However, I thought it was a solid read.
  • Alice in Wonderland: Okay…  this might be a controversial opinion, but I really don’t like this book. It’s too nonsensical for me, and I don’t connect with the characters at all. I’m only pushing through because it’s for my Classics Book Club. But at least I’ll have plenty to vent to my friends about when I’m done.

đź’¬ Life: đź’¬

This week was great. I made solid progress on several projects, stayed active, and spent quality time with my family. Balancing work, health, and home life can be a challenge at times, but my scheduling is going better than I expected. I’m super exhausted from pushing hard on mod projects, and still recovering from that.

I also spent some time studying and practicing day trading. I’m still very much a beginner, but I’m starting to recognize patterns, which feels encouraging.

I really miss writing, though. I haven’t been able to carve out the time I need to work on my novel and short stories yet. There are just not enough hours in the day for everything I want to do.

Website Update: I added an SDV mod page to my website. It’s still a work in progress, but I’ve included the list of mods I am working on. Future updates will add a list of the mods I created, the mods I use in my saves, screenshots of my farm décor, and possibly tutorials. Progress on this will be slow, but I’m excited to see what it will look like once I am finished. If anyone is interested in tutorials, let me know which subjects you would like me to cover.

That’s it for me, this time around. If you made it all the way through, thank you so much for reading. See you all next week.
