Weekly Update

🧺 SDV Mods: 🧺

  • Farmer Portrait Commission: A returning client asked for a few extra outfits for their farmer portraits. I had to redo some base layers after they made changes, but honestly, everything turned out super cute in the end.
  • Animated Scarecrows: I finally finished all the base designs (the red ones), and I love how handsome they all look. I’ve got animation ideas for some of them, but a few of the more unusual ones (alien, turnip head, deluxe) have me a bit stumped for ideas on how to animate them. I’m putting these on hold for now while I focus on my custom kid project, but I’ll be coming back to this one soon.
  • Foliage: Still working on the mahogany tree. I tested the trees I finished in-game. I think they look amazing. I’m really excited to finish this mod so everyone can enjoy more realistic trees (or at least my version of “realistic” within SDV’s style).
  • Seasonal East Scarp: Good news, this project is coming along nicely! I finished Kataryn and am working on Victoria. Bad news… I found out some seasonal outfits only have portraits but no sprites or code (only, Eyvind and Victoria), so I’ll need to add those myself. It’ll take longer, but I want players to have options. After this, I’ll probably work on Drawberry’s seasonal mods too.
  • Seasonal Farmer Portraits + Extras: I made a simple version of the Seasonal Farmer Portrait mod just for myself. I also had to tweak the code so portraits line up better with ESR, and had to add a couple of custom NPCs’ as well. I’m thinking about making an “AhCuteArt Extras” mod for my custom or abandoned mod projects… but I’m not sure yet. Still deciding where everything would go.

🎮 Games: 🎮

  • SDV Mega Modded: SDV was my daily relax-time game this week. I restarted a mega-modded save, cleaned out mods I didn’t care for, and added a bunch of new ones. I added the simple version of my seasonal portrait mod so I can enjoy it without worrying about my unfinished festival portraits.
  • SDV Simple Red: I made great progress this week. I just had a kid,  I named him Reid. I’m planning to draw him this week. He’ll take after his father, Tea (my first husband). Our next kid will take after Sebastian. I also want to learn how to add custom art/dialogue for future kids (HMK mod). I’m close to unlocking RSV’s spirit realm, romancing Lance and Lunna, and slowly working toward unlocking Uwuai (so I can marry Raphael.) Also trying to plant red-themed loved gifts for my four planned husbands… but Lance is making that difficult.
  • 9 Souls: LOL my husband has fully taken over the game. I don’t mind since it’s not my kind of game (I don’t have the patience or reaction timing it takes to play this). But I like hanging out and watching him play. We’re at the final boss, and wow, she’s TOUGH, especially since we accidentally triggered the true ending. (We are not sorry, but now she is going to have 3 phases instead of 2!) I’m cheering him on so we can finally see the ending.
  • Planet Crafter: My sister and I cleared out all the toxic goo and unclean water in Toxcity. Now I am decorating while my sister gathers resources. We are waiting for the late-game machines to unlock for us again.
  • Satisfactory: On pause for now. I will go back, but I really wanted more SDV time this week. Also… I’m at the point where I need to redo a ton of infrastructure, and I am NOT excited about that.

📖 Reading: 📖

  • The Power Broker: Robert Moses was… a really screwed-up individual. I respect what he accomplished with NYC parks, but wow, his methods were rough. Just finished the section about his family, and yeah…it’s messed-up.
  • State of Grace: Almost done with book 4, and I was surprised at the turns the story took. I can’t believe the fated mate bonds were broken! I’m really curious how it’ll all play out between the FL and her love interests. Also, if Bullet isn’t saved, I will not be okay. Lastly, let me just say that the gods in this series are the worst.

💬 Life: 💬

This week was BUSY. Between commissions, projects, and my husband’s birthday (we’re only 5 days apart lol), I somehow still got a lot done. Not sure how, but I’ll take it.

I may need to slow down a bit since I’ve been hired to beta-read a friend’s novel (paid work comes first!). Hoping I can balance that with my SDV projects. Especially since my simple save has a toddler now, and I really want to draw him. I’ve also got a bunch of fan art ideas that I’d love to do… just need more time.

Overall, things are hectic, but I’m doing my best to keep up with everything. Take care, everyone, and thanks for stopping by.
