Weekly Update

🧺 SDV Mods: 🧺

  • Extras: If you’ve been following my blog, you might remember I was thinking about creating a mod to house all my extra and dropped projects, and it’s finally live on Nexus Mods. It currently includes my abandoned portrait projects for Passerby Cemetery and LSSE, along with some of my Simple Foliage edits (more will be added soon). I also uploaded my personal seasonal farmer portraits. Right now, only the four seasons are complete, but festival versions are on the way.
  • Seasonal East Scarp: I’m so close to finishing this. Only Victoria and Josephine are left. I’m hoping to wrap up both the art and coding this week, but no promises…. Especially since I’ve run into some missing sprites that I may need to create myself. Once this is done, I’ll be moving on to a collaboration for the Visual Sweet mod.
  • Commission: I’ve wrapped up my last round of commissions for now while I focus on recovering my health. I’ll likely reopen them after summer. I worked on two really fun requests. The first one featured an adorable seasonal outfit and an added emotion (the woman with braided hair). The other client’s portraits change color with the seasons, which was such a cool concept. Thank you to everyone who’s interested in my work. I’ll be back to commissions when I’m feeling better.
  • After Dark: I’ve really been enjoying this darker mod series. I noticed the “Shadow” NPC portraits didn’t match the Nyapu-inspired style I prefer, so I made my own version. I reused elements from my Maggs Sebastian portraits, and I’m honestly pretty happy with how it turned out.
  • Custom Little NPC: Now that Reid has been born in my red-themed save (takes after his father, Tea), I’ve started working on turning him into a custom little NPC. I thought I was done with his sprites… until I realized I needed to add extra animations (fishing, dancing, painting, etc.). Once he’s complete, I’ll move on to Sebastian’s child. When everything is done in this custom mod, I’ll add it to my Extras mod for others to enjoy.

🎮 Games: 🎮

  • 9 Souls: We finally finished this. Well, my husband did while I sat next to him, cheering him on (LOL). I quickly realized I do not have the skill for this kind of game, but it was still a lot of fun to watch. We even got the true ending by accident, which was bittersweet. Definitely a solid (and very challenging) Metroidvania.
  • Pragmata: Capcom is absolutely delivering when it comes to single-player games. We started this together, but since I wasn’t feeling well, my husband ended up playing most of it while I watched and helped with puzzles. Now that we’re in the late game, I’ve accepted my role as emotional support and puzzle spotter. 😅 And yes, Diana must be protected at all costs!
  • Simple SDV: My farmer finally had their first child. Since my first husband was Tea, I designed the baby as a mix of both parents, and he turned out adorable (pink hair with a white streak). I’ve also started working on romancing Raphael, while Lance is still proving difficult with his expensive tastes.
  • Modded SDV: This save is my “directionless” file. I’ve added so many expansions that I actually have to limit myself now. I want to add them all, but my PC is crying at me at this point. Right now, I’m just casually clearing my farm and planting crops. I haven’t even touched the Community Center yet… and I might go Joja this time. We’ll see.
  • Satisfactory: I’ve been helping my sister in her late-game save, mostly by hunting hard drives and setting up zip lines across her map. Some placements are… questionable. Thankfully, parachutes exist.
  • PowerWash Simulator: On a low-energy day, my sister and I hopped into this, and I forgot how relaxing it is. We tried some Tomb Raider DLC and then worked on her campaign. I’m very tempted to grab more DLC now.
  • Core Keeper: I finally got to play this with my friend! I’ve been focusing on decorating and organizing our base while she explores. Now we’re on the hunt for the ocean biome so we can upgrade our gear.

📖 Reading: 📖

  • Land of the Lustrous: I picked this up for my birthday after loving the anime, but… the ending was not good. The beginning and middle were awesome, but the finale was just weird. The last book, especially. It was like a fever dream where rocks talk about philosophy. Sadly, I cannot recommend this series.
  • Housekeeper Mage: A refreshing take on isekai with a more mature tone. The female lead has been through a lot, but it’s nice seeing her supported by people who care about her. The romance is solid. The art is also gorgeous. I stopped at volume 6 for now (waiting for sales), but I’ll definitely pick up more later.
  • State of Grace: I enjoyed the earlier books, but this last one is getting a bit hard to follow. The cast is split up, everything is chaotic, and I’m still processing Bullet losing his memory (he’s my favorite). I’m really hoping it all comes together in a satisfying way.

💖 Life: 💖

This update actually covers two weeks… since I missed my last post, I figured I’d add what I did to this one. I’ve been taking things slow, and it’s helped me ease back into working on my art without overdoing it. While I’ll miss doing commissions, I’m excited to focus on personal projects again.

My Stardew mod list continues to grow endlessly (no surprise there), but I’m really looking forward to finishing some of these bigger projects soon. (I hope.)

A big thank you to everyone who sent kind messages and well-wishes while I was unwell. I truly appreciate all of you. Also, thank you to everyone who follows my work and reads these super-long blog updates. You’re all amazing 💕

See you all next time!
