🎂 Weekly Update 🎂

🧺 SDV Mods: 🧺

  • Farmer Portrait Commission: I spent most of this week finishing up my commission. The CP file is coded, and the portraits are complete, but my client requested a few edits to some pieces. We’re in the final revision phase now. Once this project is done, I’ll focus on finishing Seasonal ES.
  • Foliage: I only had a few spare hours to work on personal projects, so I focused on some foliage retextures. Pine, oak, and maple are finished, and I’ve started working on mahogany. I chose the Chinese Mahogany tree as my reference, especially because it’s pink in spring (so pretty!). This project is moving slowly since trees are surprisingly difficult to draw.

🎮 Games: 🎮

  • Nine Sols: After finishing Silent Hill 2 (Remake), my husband and I started this metroidvania. It’s really fun, but also really hard. I definitely wouldn’t have made it as far without my hubby’s amazing reaction time and skills with these kinds of games.
  • Core Keeper: My friend and I meet once a week to play this game. She loves exploring while I focus on decorating. Since she’s been bringing back great materials, I expanded our base to make room for more builds.
  • Satisfactory: This game is for people who enjoy building complex systems and then scraping the whole thing because they aren’t efficient enough… over and over. I just finished Tier 3 and am working toward Tier 4. I’ve started setting up my coal power supply, which is a bit of a pain since it’s located on a high cliff away from my main base.
  • The Planet Crafter: My sister and I have been slowly playing through the Toxicity update. Cleaning up the world is oddly satisfying. We’ve had a few close calls in the radioactive areas, but overall, things are going well. The map is huge, so we’ve had to build several small bases along the way.

📖 Reading: 📖

  • State of Grace: I’m working on finishing this reverse harem series. I really enjoyed the first two books, but after that, things started to feel rushed. By book four, the story got a bit strange. I do want to give credit to the author, since each love interest feels distinct, and they all get time to develop a relationship with the FL. I’ll have to share my overall thoughts on how I feel about it once I finish the series.
  • The Power Broker: This is a nonfiction read I’ve been slowly working through. It’s fascinating (and a bit depressing) to see how government and political systems operate. Robert Moses is a particularly interesting figure. He accomplished a lot, but also made some very questionable and corrupt decisions. It really shows both how much has changed in our world and how much hasn’t.

💬 Life: 💬

I didn’t get as much done this week, project-wise, because it was my birthday (on Friday)! I took a day off to relax and do whatever I wanted. Which was amazing and needed. I really need to give myself more days like that, but we’ll see how that fits into my already packed schedule.

That’s it for me this week! If you made it this far, thank you so much for reading. Til next time.
