⭐ WEEKLY UPDATE

🧺 SDV Mods 🧺

  • Drawberry ESR: I had a pretty productive week. I finished Jade, Keanu, and Kennedy. Jade had a ton of outfit changes, so I’m happy I was able to get them all finished quickly. I’m also really happy with how Kennedy’s portraits turned out.
  • Colorful Craftables: I’ve been slowly working on the next major Color-Themed Paths and Flooring update. Pink is completely finished, including all the recolors. Purple is about halfway done. The Vanilla and Earthy versions are complete, I’m halfway through VPR, and I haven’t started Bluegrass yet. On a side note, I was able to add the cheese maker and the last seasonal plant to my Color-Themed Craftables mod. I also came across a strange item hidden in the craftables tilesheet and couldn’t figure out what it was. Thankfully, the SDV Discord community helped me out. (It was an unused asset.) Less work for me!
  • Mineral Town: I had some extra time this week and wanted to work on something different. I finished the bases and normal outfits for Aja and Ann. They won’t be shown in this week’s update image because I ran out of room, but I’ll probably add them to next week’s. They turned out pretty cute, in my opinion.

🎮 Games 🎮

  • Persona 4: I played a ton of Persona 4 this week and finally got through Naoto’s arc. Not going to lie, I think she’s super cute, and I’m going to try to romance her if I can. Sorry, Kanji. I would date both of you if the game would let me.
  • Diablo 4: This was another game I ended up playing a lot. Since I have a mountain of book club books to get through, I discovered that I can grind paragon levels while listening to audiobooks. I find Diablo 4 a bit more fun to play than ATS for audio story consumption. The only downside is having to pause my books whenever important dialogue pops up.
  • SDV Mega Modded: I finally unlocked the tool bundles, most of the kitchen, and the frying pan. Right now I’m working toward getting enough sap to unlock the copper axe. It’s literally the only thing holding me back because I already have everything else. I’ve been playing one in-game day per real-life day since my mega-modded saves take so much longer thanks to the time-speed mod. And yes… I added even more mods to the game.  At this rate, I really will hit 1,000 installed mods someday.
  • SDV Simple Red: I didn’t get to play too many days on my Simple Red save this week, but some of my work-in-progress mods are looking amazing in-game. I also finally got around to exploring the SVE Highlands area. Wow, that place is no joke. I burned through several Life Elixirs and still found myself running away whenever I got swarmed. I found the imprisoned dwarf, so now all that’s left is beating the boss on the Highland Cliffs… which sounds intimidating.
  • American Truck Simulator: I didn’t play much ATS this week after realizing I could listen to audiobooks while playing Diablo 4. I also got a little frustrated during one delivery. I missed the parking spot the first time, and because the oversized trailer was split into three sections, backing up to correct it was practically impossible. I ended up hard-quitting and taking the loss to my profits. Which was pretty irritating.

📖 Reading 📖

  • Shōgun: Good lord, this book is intense. As historical fiction, it doesn’t pull any punches when portraying feudal Japan, the samurai class, and the Portuguese presence in the country. I actually respect that it doesn’t shy away from the harsher realities of the period, but this is definitely not a book for the faint of heart. Honestly, I think the only reason I’ve pushed this far through it is because it’s for my book club. It’s been a very long read, and I’m not even into Part 3 yet. I just reached the section where Blackthorne helps save Takanaga, and I have some very mixed feelings about it.
  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone: I’m rereading the Harry Potter series for another book club I recently joined. It’s been years since I last read Sorcerer’s Stone, but the book is still charming despite the fact that I’m well beyond the target age demographic now. I don’t know if I’ll be able to read the series in order since I’m borrowing the books from the library, but that’s okay.
  • Witch Hat Kitchen: I finally finished the first volume of this manga. It was a cute and cozy read, but not quite good enough for me to buy the rest of the series unless I find them on sale. Since I have dietary restrictions, there’s not much point in me trying most of the recipes anyway. Still, as a fan of the series, it was nice to spend a little more time in that world and enjoy some extra cozy content.

💬 Life 💬

Life has been a bit up and down this week. I’m still exhausted from the lifestyle changes I’ve had to make recently, and I’m trying to adjust.

The upside is that I managed to get a ton of projects done whenever I was up and moving around. The downside is that pushing myself a little harder meant I also spent about half the week stuck in bed recovering. Such is life when you’ve got adult responsibilities that can’t wait.

On a more positive note, I still wasn’t able to work on my secret project, but I did sketch some SDV fan art based on my Simple Red save. I figured a few one-page comics would be good practice for what I eventually want to create in the future.

For those of you who read my blog through my website, there may be a bit of a change-up next month. I’m moving to a new web hosting platform, and since I’ve never done that before, I’m hoping the transition goes smoothly.

Take care, everyone! I’ll see you all next week, and thank you for taking the time out of your day to check in on my work.
